Where are we going?

A question – and perhaps our most important answer.

ree

“So? Where are you heading first?”

We’ve been hearing this question for weeks.

It pops up everywhere – in conversations with friends, while saying goodbye to neighbors, even in small talk at the supermarket checkout.

And each time, we pause. Not because we don’t have an answer –

but because we don’t have a simple one.

The truth is:

We don’t know yet.

We don’t have a printed route, no fixed plan.

No destination circled in bold on a calendar.

No countdown to a place.

We have ideas – plenty of them.

Places we want to see.

Countries we’d love to explore.

People we might visit.

But we made a conscious choice:

We’ll let ourselves drift.

Between maps and instincts

At first, there was this urge to “do it right.”

We researched routes, studied roadmaps, read travel blogs.

South of France in spring? Or Portugal?

Maybe start by discovering more of Germany?

We marked favorite spots, saved potential campgrounds, calculated distances.

But the more we planned, the more it felt like everyday life again: scheduled, defined, predictable.

And that’s exactly what we wanted to leave behind.

Maybe that’s where the magic lies:

Not knowing what comes next – but being open to finding out.

Step by step.

Do you know the feeling of setting off without knowing exactly where you're going?

It’s a bit like walking into the morning fog.

You can’t see far – but just enough to keep going.

And with every step, the path becomes clearer.

So we let go of the plan, left the to-do list in the drawer –

and chose to trust the road that reveals itself as we go.

What truly guides us

We’ll leave when we’re ready.

Stay where it feels right.

Move on when our hearts grow restless.

Maybe we’ll spend our first night at a small lake in the Black Forest.

Or on a vineyard in France.

Or by a quiet farm in Bavaria.

Maybe we’ll be drawn by inspiring people.

By a conversation that invites us.

By a sunset that holds us.

And maybe – just maybe – it’s not about where we’re going.

But how.

Slower.

Softer.

More attentive.

Between freedom and trust

This not knowing makes some people nervous.

And yes, we feel that too sometimes – a quiet unease.

But more often, we feel: freedom.

Freedom not to have all the answers.

Not to know every stop along the way.

To be surprised by ourselves.

Because life often has better plans than we do.

And we’ve chosen to trust it.

So, where are we going?

To where we can walk barefoot through the grass.

Where our dog rests peacefully in the sun.

Where a morning coffee with a view of green is enough to feel content.

To where life feels light.

Not perfect – but real.

Not certain – but alive.

Maybe it’s a place.

Maybe it’s a meeting.

Maybe it’s a state of being.

Maybe we don’t always need to know.

Maybe true freedom begins exactly where the plan ends.

And maybe – if we let go of the destination –

we can finally arrive:

In the moment, in the now, within ourselves.

About Us

We are two people, a dog and a feeling.

A feeling that eventually became too loud to ignore. It was a desire to stop putting life off and start truly living it.
